A set of billboards in Indiana aims to clown Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for her covid orders, but the joke is actually on Indiana.
The billboards, paid for by a guy who owns eight commercial radio stations in the state, two of them country, declare her "Business Person of the Year" and ask whether the current state of Michigan business affairs are "Half Full" or "Half Empty.”
In an interview with Michigan Capitol Confidential, a nonprofit outlet that reports with a "free-market news perspective," Swick Broadcasting CEO Steve Swick said the billboards are "more satire than anything. Indiana is benefitting greatly from her implemented policies.”
But Indiana's looser restrictions don't seem to be benefitting the preservation of human life. Its Covid death rate is 9,710 per 100,000, compared to Michigan's 6,322 per 100,000, according to data compiled by The New York Times.
