Host Saeed Khan talks with guests: pollster Ed Sarpolus, public relations specialist Beverly Watts, attorneys Bill Seikaly and Joel Sklar, and Deadline Detroit co-founder Allan Lengel.
The panelists talk about the political nuance of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan's recent comments crediting President Trump for appointing interim Detroit U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr. to help fight crime. Gorgon was appointed on May 2.
Duggan is running as an Independent in the 2026 governor’s race.
"The federal government has been a huge partner in this," Duggan told Michael Smerconish on a CNN podcast on Saturday. "The president appointed Jerome Gorgon, the new U.S. Attorney, who was a career prosecutor himself. And he dramatically ramped up the federal support for gun violence."
